What Can Men Do?  Men helping to end gender-based violence

While our sisters march at Take Back the Night, we invite men - adult men, young men and Trans men - to join us and discuss how we can support their effort to work toward a future with no violence against women. Men must answer an urgent call to action, as we can be allies, partners, role models to other men & engaged bystanders. Let’s talk about how we can be a part of change, with Urgency and with Love.

Jeff Perera is a Program Manager for the White Ribbon Campaign, the world’s largest effort to engage men and boys in working to end violence against women. Jeff speaks to people from all walks of life around how society’s unattainable concepts of masculinity are effecting men and boys and impacting women and girls.

When: Thursday, September 20th at 6:30pm
Where: YWCA - 75 MacNab Street South - in room 5R

About cjw

A mother of three and a survivor of domestic violence, I am passionate about helping women who feel isolated and alone, women who may have children that are profoundly impacted by the trauma of domestic violence and women who need to understand where they can go to get help for themselves and their families. I am a registered nurse who has worked for the last 16 years in a critical care area only to have to flee to a women's shelter and have my whole life changed. I know fear, I know pain and I now know food banks...I'm in good company.
